It is a modern and very pleasant museum to visit that traces the different emigration of the Irish people. It is quite amazing how many people have Irish origins (Barack Obama, Che Guevara to name but a few). 3 words define emigration to Ireland quite well: HUNGER, WORK, COMMUNITY. HUNGER, because Ireland is a people who have experienced many waves of emigration, especially to escape the famine that was ravaging the country. WORK because the lack of work was also an important factor in Irish immigration. Finally, COMMUNITY many people emigrated to join their families, already settled in other countries.
